Rumu Sarkar ’81

I was so pleased to join the Athena Society in recognition of my naming Barnard in my will. My time at Barnard was truly life-changing—I learned to become the woman I am today, be unafraid in overcoming obstacles, chart my own course as a woman lawyer and law professor, and be true to my Indian roots, heritage, language and religion.

I want the Barnard tradition to continue, which is why it is so important that I make an unrestricted gift to the College to use as it sees fit in the coming years. I trust Barnard’s vision for the future!
